Location: Upstairs Gallery at the Austin ArtWorks Center

Students will be introduced to gouache painting through a structured, hands-on exploration of essential techniques and concepts.

• Day One: Dive into color theory, with a focus on understanding and creating the color wheel.

• Day Two: Explore value and opacity through guided studies.

• Day Three: Practice a variety of brush techniques to build confidence and control.

• Day Four: Apply what you’ve learned to create a final piece of your own design.

By the end of the class, students will have a strong foundation in gouache and the skills to continue developing their painting practice.
