Cedar Summerstock Theatre (CST), a nationally recognized theatre company based in Mitchell County, Iowa, is bringing a one-night-only performance of Hormel Girls to The Paramount Theatre. Originally developed in partnership with Buffalo Gal Productions and the History Theatre in St. Paul, Hormel Girls premiered to sold-out audiences and quickly captured attention with its powerful storytelling and vibrant score. Based on a remarkable true story, the musical follows the Hormel Girls—a post–World War II, all-female drum and bugle corps and sales team formed in 1947 by Jay C. Hormel. What began as a marketing effort for products like SPAM evolved into a nationally touring sensation and popular radio show.
