Hormel Girls, Presented by Cedar Summerstock Theatre

  • Historic Paramount Theatre 125 4th Ave NE Austin, MN, 55912 United States (map)

Cedar Summerstock Theatre (CST), a nationally recognized theatre company based in Mitchell County, Iowa, is bringing a one-night-only performance of Hormel Girls to The Paramount Theatre. Featuring rising performers currently training at some of the country’s most prestigious theatre programs, this is a rare opportunity to experience exceptional talent before they take the Broadway stage.

Originally developed in partnership with Buffalo Gal Productions and the History Theatre in St. Paul, Hormel Girls premiered to sold-out audiences and quickly captured attention with its powerful storytelling and vibrant score. Based on a remarkable true story, the musical follows the Hormel Girls—a post–World War II, all-female drum and bugle corps and sales team formed in 1947 by Jay C. Hormel. What began as a marketing effort for products like SPAM evolved into a nationally touring sensation and popular radio show.

Trailblazers in every sense, the Hormel Girls were a groundbreaking, all-veteran ensemble who redefined women’s roles in entertainment and business—leaving a legacy of independence, talent, and innovation. Don’t miss this inspiring, high-energy production—one night only.
