The Austin Area Commission for the Arts (AACA)— an independent, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization— envisions a vibrant and successful community enriched by diverse arts, entertainment, and cultural activities. We strive to identify, engage, and support the development and advancement of diverse arts, entertainment, and cultural activities that benefit people in Austin and the surrounding area.
The Austin ArtWorks Center, opened in August 2014, is a space for our creative community to learn, create, display, and perform in all artistic avenues. The space includes the county's only public clay studio as well as three galleries, an artists' lounge, and a retail space supporting local artwork.
One of only four remaining atmospheric theaters in the state of Minnesota, The Paramount Theatre plays host to a variety of arts & entertainment— from comedy to symphony— each year, and provides a space for local performing arts groups to celebrate established as well as emerging talent.
Austin ArtWorks Festival
Originally launched as a two-day event celebrating local visual, performing, and literary artists, the Austin ArtWorks Festival began showcasing regionally and nationally known artists this summer. The Festival will occur at Austin's Historic Downtown Power Plant for the fourth consecutive year in August of 2015.
