Step into the strange, beautiful world of nature preserved.
Oddities Under Glass is not your typical art class—it’s an invitation to explore the delicate line between life, decay, and transformation. In this hands-on summer course, you’ll learn how to create your own hauntingly beautiful terrarium art using ethically sourced bones, preserved insects, dried botanicals, and found natural objects.
Guided by a practicing oddities artist, you’ll discover techniques for composition, preservation, and storytelling. No prior experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to embrace the unusual.
In this course, you’ll:
Learn the basics of terrarium construction and design
Work with bones, insects, moss, fungi, and other organic materials
Explore ethical sourcing and preservation methods
Develop your own artistic style within the “oddities” aesthetic
Leave with a completed, one-of-a-kind terrarium piece
Perfect for artists, collectors, nature lovers, and the delightfully curious.
Come create something a little strange… and entirely your own.
