AHS Jazz feat. The Paper Clips

Austin High School's "Jazz One" returns to the Paramount stage alongside "The Paper Clips," a Minneapolis-based trombone quartet. The Paper Clips cross the boundaries of classical and contemporary music with their current program exploring the sounds of Classic Motown. Jazz One is the top student jazz ensemble in Austin Public Schools, performing at school events, community events, and state festivals. The two groups will perform highlights from their current programs and will combine on both classic swing and modern funk tunes as they explore the trombone's influence in American musical genres. The concert will be a capstone of a three-day residency in which The Paper Clips will perform for and work with APS Band students in all grades. 

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through grants from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council and MPR Class Notes thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund.
