Thursday June 5th, 2025 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM
Friday June 6th, 2025 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM
Instructor: Caroline Porter
Geared towards ages 14+
This class is located in the 2nd Floor Gallery at the ArtWorks Center
This three day workshop is tailored for beginners and covers everything from start to framing.
Paint this beautiful 9x12 inch, Birch and Blooms, scene with local Minnesotan artist, Caroline
Porter. Gain confidence by mastering key watercolor concepts and become comfortable with
common watercolor terminology. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by watercolors, set your mind
at ease. Students will practice each technique before painting on the final artwork. End the
workshop by proudly displaying your masterpiece. Students will be introduced to different
framing equipment and learn ways for making framing more affordable for any beginner.
Important Notes:
Instructor will provide a frame for each student, however, it is understood frames are of personal
taste. Therefore, students are welcome to provide their own. Sizes of provided frames will most
likely range between 11x14 and 12x16 inches. Material of the frame will most likely be wood
and glass (no plexiglass). Students will have an opportunity to view frames on the first day of
class.
Instructor will provide all necessary materials for this class, however, if you would like to use
your own materials (i.e. paints or brushes), students are more than welcome to bring them.
Feel free to bring a notebook and take notes. It is encouraged to practice what you learn during
this workshop at home.
